Developing a new generation of managers for the new realities of the global business environment.
As global competition intensifies and industry boundaries blur, corporate business strategies are being disrupted -- and the role of the general manager is being redefined. Today, every executive, from every level and functional area, must adopt a general manager's perspective to be an effective leader. The modern general manager must have business acumen -- the insight and confidence to size up a business situation, generate alternative courses of action and implement a successful solution -- and have a point of view that considers the consequences of his or her decisions for the entire organization, its customers and its competitors.
