Strategy from a Strength-Based Perspective

General Overview

lynnwootenIn this webinar, we draw upon Positive Organizational Scholarship to explore strategy from a strength-based perspective. We propose that strategy is the art of envisioning a future that guides the organization's behavior. Envisioning demands that leaders have the ability to understand an organization's environment and create strategic stories that map out the future.

Takeaways

This vision is supported by an organization's strengths that are:

  • Resourceful by creating sustained competitive advantage
  • Generative by creating new capabilities
  • Dynamic by adapting to environmental opportunities

To bring a strength based approach to life, organizations invest in practices and people as enablers.
