DAY 1 explores the fundamentals of a hospital strategy, focusing on key questions: Can healthcare institutions actually develop, articulate and deploy a cogent strategy? How do hospitals and health systems create barriers to entry within their market? What is the role of physicians in developing the institutional strategy? How does federal regulation impact the delivery of care and the portfolio of services that hospitals provide?
DAY 2 begins with a look at existing institutional strategies and how they build and support the corporate enterprise. Then the focus shifts to understanding the drivers of a health system clinical expansion, and who can and should lead the institutional strategy. The session addresses the decision-making processes wherein an institution decides what to do as well as what not to do. |
