This two-day Healthcare Finance module consists of a presentation of
the theoretical framework of Healthcare Finance, specific examples, and a participant workshop. This course includes a prereading assignment which will be sent to participants several weeks before the course starts. |

Healthcare Finance is part of the Healthcare Management Series, a Certificate Program for Clinicians and Senior Administrators presented in a modular format
The University of Michigan's schools of Business and Medicine collaborate to offer this unique management program for healthcare leaders in six two-day modules that make it easier for clinicians and senior administrators to fit into busy work schedules.
Complete five of the six modules and receive the University of Michigan Certificate in Healthcare Management, or take only the modules that interest you most. |
DAY 1 provides participants with an understanding of a health system's financial health. Participants move through a typical health system's financial reports in order to better understand the purpose and use of traditional financial information.
DAY 2 begins with understanding key financial metrics such as ROI and NPV. The day focuses on the decision-making surrounding these metrics and what they mean to various constituents: clinicians, investors, CXO's, and competitors. |
