This Ross School of Business advanced finance program helps senior managers use financial analysis concepts to evaluate strategic decisions from a shareholder value perspective, assess firms for acquisitions, strategically allocate resources to maximize shareholder value and measure value created. As a participant in the Advanced Finance for the Non-Financial Manager program, you will gain an understanding of how to use financial insights to make and evaluate organizational decisions, with a focus on strategic allocation of corporate resources and merger and acquisition strategies. As you learn to view decision-making and planning through a finance lens, you will acquire strategies for achieving more profitable results for your organization.

Who Should Attend Advanced Finance for the Non-Financial Manager

Learning Objectives

Although sophisticated financial concepts are explored in this three-day senior managers' program, the Michigan finance faculty provides an engaging, interactive learning experience that makes "high finance" both accessible and enjoyable. Learning methods include cases, application activities, discussions and lectures, plus some actual "number crunching" using a financial calculator and Excel. Throughout the session, the focus is on how finance policies can be strategic tools and how they can enhance shareholder value.
