Dr. Frederick R. Post is an Associate Professor of Business Law and Management at the College of Business Administration at the University of Toledo. He holds a B.A. in Economics from Ohio Wesleyan University, an M.B.A. in Management from Western Michigan University and a J.D. from the University of Toledo, prior to his appointment to the faculty in the college, he practiced in the specialized areas of Labor and Employment Law fifteen years as a senior partner in a Toledo, Ohio law firm. Be presently serves as Counsel to the law firm of Wagoner & Steinburg L.L.C. where he maintains a minimal consulting practice in his areas of recognized specialties and advises other lawyers in the firm on these areas.
Dr. Post's broad research interests include all legal aspects of Human Resources Management, Labor and Employment issues and Business Ethics issues. His research has been presented at international, national and regional Business Law and Management Conferences and his articles have appeared in the International Journal of Conflict Management, the Connecticut Law Review, the Journal of Business Ethics, Business Horizons, the Journal of Compensation and Benefits, the Journal of Legal Studies Education and Mid-American Journal of Business. He has also Authored three practitioner¿s texts on specific areas of Labor Law: Union Organizing and the Law, A Management Perspective on Collective Bargaining and Labor Contract Compliance for Management. Dr. Post is a recognized expert and authority on both the union organizing process and the collective bargaining process. In the past twenty years, he has given over 50 seminars and lectures to Business Executives throughout the Midwest educating them on their legal rights, legal duties and responsibilities under the Federal and State Labor Laws. He also holds the distinction of being selected for the teaching faculty of the Ohio State Bar Association, educating lawyers throughout Ohio on these specialized areas of Labor Law. As a practitioner, Dr. Post has represented companies in numerous union organizing campaigns with every major International Union. He has also served as chief negotiator for management numerous sets of labor negotiations. Because of this extensive actual hands-on experience, in addition to his significant contributions in teaching and publications, Dr. Post has appeared on several television and radio news programs as an expert commentator on significant labor disputes in Northwestern Ohio.
Dr. Post is a member of the Academy of Legal Studies in Business, The Tri-State Business Law Association, The Society of .Business Ethics and the Toledo Bar Association. He is a former editor of the Academy of Legal Studies in Business and a member of the Academy's Presidential Advisory Board. He serves as the faculty advisor to the student organization, the Alpha Kappa Psi Business Fraternity. As an accomplished endurance athlete, he is a four time finisher of the Hawaiian iron man Triathlon World Championship and a finisher of the Spenco 500 Mile Bicycle Race across Texas. As an equestrian athlete, he shows his horse in the Hunter/Jumper Division of U.S. Equestrian Competitions. While in military service, he achieved the high distinction of being a Green Beret, serving on an A-Team with the 10th group of the U.S. Special Forces (Airborne) of the United States Army.
