Gordon Hewitt

Adjunct Professor of Business Administration



Gordon Hewitt's interests cover the fields of global competition and the development of new frameworks for creating corporate value and competitive advantage. His many academic awards include the title of Honorary Professor of Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Glasgow, Scotland, where he started his career. He has taught at many leading business schools in Europe and the USA, including Michigan, Carnegie Mellon and Duke.

As a consultant, he works at Board level with many international corporations. He has conducted major strategy deployment and educational programs in corporations such as Sony, IBM, Honeywell, Merck, Avaya, UBS, Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Thermo Electron and Motorola.

He is internationally recognized for his innovative work in analyzing highly dynamic and complex levels of competitive uncertainty. He has chaired prestigious meetings of European and American CEOs to discuss the future of corporate strategy and corporate governance. He has twice been Hewlett Packard's "Masterclass" speaker at the CBI National Business Conference.

Born and educated in Glasgow, Gordon Hewitt now divides his time equally between the USA and Europe. He retains a home in Scotland, and is a member of the International Advisory Board of Scottish Enterprise. He is also Chairman of Court at the University of Abertay, Dundee where he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in recognition of his international reputation in the areas of competitive strategy and executive education.
