In today's information-focused world, quick and easy access to data is essential. The Executive Education Center is proud to offer high speed Internet access in convenient locations for our guests traveling with their laptop computers.

BEFORE YOU COME: PRINT OUT THIS PAGE AND GIVE IT TO YOUR TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT STAFF WITH THE ADDRESS TO THIS SITE.

There are many things that you or your IT department can prepare before you leave to make using your computer easier at our site when you arrive. We recommend you set up your laptop before you leave while you have onsite support with your company's IT staff. Following is a summary--be sure to read the detailed instructions and provide them to your IT staff.

Ethernet:

Install an Ethernet card and understand how to configure the following. Our Ethernet connections run at 10/100 Mb/sec and have no firewall. Remember to bring an Ethernet cable. Set DHCP for automatic IP address assignment. Turn off any proxy server settings Configure your company's VPN or firewall software--these may need to be turned off if necessary. Email: You will need to configure your POP or IMAP email client to use your home server or another one that you can access on the Internet. We do not provide any SMTP services for outgoing email.

Local Printing:

We provide parallel port cables to connect to local printers in the Executive Education Center.
