Transportation to Ann Arbor

Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW) is located about 25 miles (40 km) east of Ann Arbor on Interstate-94. Detroit Metro Airport has three terminals:
McNamara Terminal for Air France, Aeromexico, Continental, Delta, Northwest, and KLM flights
North Terminal for Air Canada, Air Tran, American, Frontier, Lufthansa, Southwest, Spririt, United, US Airways and most charter airlines.

To assist you in booking your transportation arrangements from the airport to the Executive Education Center, you will find a variety of options below. Additionally, the Executive Residence front desk staff is available to assist you with arranging return transportation from the Center to the airport.

Limousine Service

The fare is approximately $60 USD one way, plus gratuity. Reservations must be made 24 hours in advance with a credit card. You will be met in the baggage claim area upon your arrival.

Metro Cars

This luxury sedan service, available 24 hours a day, is located curbside outside the baggage claim area. Cost is a flat fee of approximately $60 USD one way, plus gratuity. For more information, visit http://www.metrocars.com

Airport Shuttle

This van service operated by Custom Transit is available for individuals or groups. The one-passenger rate is a flat fee of approximately $25 USD one way, plus gratuity. For more information or to book online, visit http://customtransit.com/airport/reservations.php.

Taxi

Available curbside outside baggage claim, one-way fare to Ann Arbor is approximately $50 USD.

Tipping Practices

A general practice is to tip approximately 15% for restaurants, taxi cabs, and other services. If you receive assistance at the airport or hotel with your luggage, tip $1-2 USD per bag.

Parking

As with most university towns, parking at the University of Michigan is extremely limited. If you do choose to travel by automobile, you will be on your own for parking charges. Your best parking option is at the Forest Ave. Parking Structure, just a few blocks from the Executive Residence. Instructions for where to park will be given to you when you check in. Please follow the instructions closely, as the Executive Education Center and the Executive Residence are not responsible for parking tickets.

Driving Directions

Directions from Detroit Metropolitan Airport

Take I-94 WEST toward Ann Arbor. Take the State Street exit (Exit 177) and turn right. Continue north on State Street to the intersection of State and Hill streets (about 5 miles or 8 km) and turn right on Hill. Travel 3 blocks to East University Street and turn left. The Executive Education Center and the Executive Residence will be directly to your left at 710 East University Street.

Directions from the North

Take US-23 SOUTH to the Washtenaw Avenue West exit (Exit 37B). About 2 miles west (3 km), the road splits. Keep to the right and stay on Washtenaw. Proceed to Hill Street and turn left. Travel 5 blocks to East University and turn right. The Executive Education Center and the Executive Residence is located on the left-hand side of the street at 710 East University Street.

Directions from the Northeast

Take M-14 WEST or I-96 WEST to US-23 SOUTH. Exit at Washtenaw Avenue (Exit 37B). About 2 miles west (3 km), the road splits. Keep to the right and stay on Washtenaw. Proceed to Hill Street and turn left. Travel 5 blocks to East University and turn right. The Executive Education Center and the Executive Residence is located on the left-hand side of the street at 710 East University Street.

Directions from the South
