Transportation to Ann Arbor

Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW) is located about 25 miles (40 km) east of Ann Arbor on Interstate-94. Detroit Metro Airport has three terminals:
McNamara Terminal for Continental, Northwest, KLM, and Lufthansa flights
Smith Terminal for most other US airlines and Air Canada
Berry Terminal for British Airways, Royal Jordanian, and charter airlines.

To assist you in booking your transportation arrangements from the airport to the Executive Education Center, you will find a variety of options below.

Limousine Service

The fare is approximately $60 USD one way, plus gratuity. Reservations must be made 24 hours in advance with a credit card. You will be met in the baggage claim area upon your arrival.

Metro Cars

This luxury sedan service, available 24 hours a day, is located curbside outside the baggage claim area. Cost is a flat fee of approximately $60 USD one way, plus gratuity. For more information, visit http://www.metrocars.com

Airport Shuttle

This van service operated by Custom Transit is available for individuals or groups. The one-passenger rate is a flat fee of approximately $25 USD one way, plus gratuity. For more information or to book online, visit http://customtransit.com/airport/reservations.php.

Taxi

Available curbside outside baggage claim, one-way fare to Ann Arbor is approximately $50 USD.

Tipping Practices

A general practice is to tip approximately 15% for restaurants, taxi cabs, and other services. If you receive assistance at the airport or hotel with your luggage, tip $1-2 USD per bag.

Parking

Parking at your hotel and Executive Education Center (at MITC) is free and plentiful.

Shuttle Between Hotels and the Executive Education Center

We will transport you at the beginning and end of each day between your hotel and the Executive Education Center (at MITC). The exact schedule will be detailed in your preprogram communication.

If you prefer to drive or walk from your hotel, the Executive Education Center at MITC is about 1/2 mile (0.8 km) from our partner hotels. From VICTORS WAY, turn LEFT (north) onto BOARDWALK DRIVE. Continue north on BOARDWALK through the intersection at EISENHOWER PARKWAY. Turn left (west) on OAKBROOK DRIVE; MITC is the first building on the right.

Driving Directions

NOTE: To find the Executive Education Center (at MITC) using an internet map service, use the address "1000 Campus Drive, Ann Arbor, Michigan." (Our actual postal address is 1000 Oakbrook Drive.) We apologize for the confusion this may cause, but the error in these services is beyond our control.

Directions from Detroit Metropolitan Airport

Take I-94 WEST (25 miles or 40 km) to Ann Arbor. Take the STATE STREET exit (Exit 177) and turn RIGHT (north) onto STATE STREET.

To your hotel:
Proceed NORTH on STATE STREET (0.3 miles or 0.5 km). Turn RIGHT (east) on VICTORS WAY (the first street on the right). Proceed to your hotel according to the information we send in your preprogram communication.

To MITC:
Proceed NORTH on STATE STREET. Continue north past Briarwood Mall and through the intersection at EISENHOWER PARKWAY (0.7 miles or 1.1 km). Turn RIGHT (east) onto OAKBROOK DRIVE between the United Bank & Trust and Howard Cooper Honda. The Executive Education Center at MITC is just past Howard Cooper on the left (0.1 miles or 0.16 km).

Directions from the North

Take US-23 SOUTH. Merge onto I-94 WEST via Exit 35 toward Chicago. Take the STATE STREET exit (Exit 177) and turn RIGHT (north) onto STATE STREET. Follow the directions to your hotel or to MITC, above.

Directions from the Northeast

Take M-14 WEST or I-96 WEST to US-23 SOUTH. Merge onto I-94 WEST via Exit 35 toward Chicago. Take the STATE STREET exit (Exit 177) and turn RIGHT (north) onto STATE STREET. Follow the directions to your hotel or to MITC, above.

Directions from the South

Take US-23 NORTH. Merge onto I-94 WEST via Exit 35 toward Chicago. Take the STATE STREET exit (Exit 177) and turn RIGHT (north) onto STATE STREET. Follow the directions to your hotel or to MITC, above.

Directions from the East

Take I-94 WEST toward Chicago. Take the STATE STREET exit (Exit 177) and turn RIGHT (north) onto STATE STREET. Follow the directions to your hotel or to MITC, above.

Directions from the West

Take I-94 EAST to the STATE STREET exit (Exit 177). Turn LEFT (north) onto STATE STREET. (Caution: northbound traffic on State Street does not stop at this intersection.)  Follow the directions to your hotel or to MITC, above.
